Are you ready for Elden Ring's eight huge kingdoms?

It's been almost a whole year since we last heard anything about Elden Ring, the latest project from Dark Souls creators From Software.

Outside of an exciting E3 2019 trailer, we still know hardy anything about the project, apart from the fact its a collaboration between Hidetaka Miyazaki (director of the Souls series) and George R.R. Martin, the author of The Song of Ice and Fire series (aka Game of Thrones).

Then just a few days ago, a very exciting anonymous and quite detailed leak was posted on 4chan. It's easy as always to dismiss a lot of leaked details with lashings of sodium, but the level of detail in these leaks is quite significant and - honestly, a lot of it sounds very plausible.

It also sounds incredibly exciting. If these rumours are all true, when Elden Ring finally comes out, it could be the best entry From Software has put out yet.

There's plenty of meaty details here to get through, so why don't you mount up (literally, if rumours are to believed) and get ready to delve into the eight huge, open-world kingdoms that Elden Ring has to offer?

8. The 8 Kingdoms

it sounds like Elden Ring is taking both elements from Demon's Souls and Dark Souls and blending them into one, as the leak reveals that the game will have 8 distinct kingdoms, plus a final boss area.

This seems reminiscent of Demon's Souls where you could access different areas via archstones; however, Elden Ring will differ from this because the kingdoms will be seamlessly woven together, more akin to Dark Souls.

Kingdoms are said to be huge and sprawling, much larger than any Dark Souls 3 or Bloodborne levels which came previously. Given the size and scope of some of the levels in previous Souls series games, that's gonna be some damn huge levels right there.

The kingdoms are said to extremely distinct, with a wide variety of locales to explore. The leaker describes the game as extremely alike to Breath of the Wild, expanding on the core mechanics in BOTW and they state 'It's what we all wanted Breath of the Wild to be but it wasn't.'

Interestingly, you'll have to wade through swamps, traverse fields, climb mountains and delve into caverns to even get to these kingdoms in the first place.

These 8 kingdoms will also be intrinsically-linked together by a very exciting new area...
