13. Resident Evil 3 (2020)

Resident Evil 4 Remake
Capcom

After the success of 2019's Resident Evil 2 Remake, it was only natural for Capcom to make plans for the next reimagining of the classic entries. The result is 2020's Resident Evil 3, a remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, that tried to capture the success of its predecessor.

Yet despite similar presentation and graphics, the game feels more like a glorified DLC of the previous game rather than a full-priced entry.

The title already has the problem of having only one campaign but makes it even worse by its short length as a playthrough will only take six or so hours. The different pathways from the original RE3, which added some replayability to the game, have also been removed making the title more linear than ever. Finally, the remake removes some of the iconic sections from the original such as the Clock Tower as well as oversimplifies a lot of its puzzles.

That's not to say that the game is all bad as RE3 Remake does give us a more memorable Carlos Oliviera and the RE Engine is still as stunning as ever. It's just that coming off the heels of the RE2 Remake, this game feels more like an afterthought.
